JPPM has unique opportunities for Boy and Girl Scouts looking to obtain badges, experience, and volunteer time. With 560 acres and miles of trails, JPPM has plenty of opportunities for any groups looking to gain volunteer experience. We also offer the programs listed below for scout groups.
Archaeology Merit Badge - Dig into archaeology with this interactive field trip. Scouts will learn about the foundational principles and processes of archaeology through guided exploration of our FAQ Archaeology Exhibit, try their hand at some experimental archaeology, and participate in a tabletop archaeology acitivity. Our staff are certified merit badge counselors and will be able to sign your blue card.

Indian Lore Merit Badge - Explore the lifeways of Native Americans who lived along the Chesapeake Bay over 500 years ago through a hands-on field trip. Scouts will have a chance to work with authentic artificats, recreate tools through experimental archaeology, explore our replica Woodland Indian Village, and more. Our staff are certified merit badge counselors and will be able to sign your blue cards.
