A Culture Revisited
On this tour you will learn about the lives of African Americans in Southern Maryland in general and those at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum in particular before the land was turned over to the State of Maryland. This project was produced by the Huntingtown High School 2011-2012 Archaeology Class, and contains commentary from an archaeologist, a descendant, and others who experienced the changes that took place in the 20th century in Calvert County. As you listen you will encounter information spanning over 300 years of history at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum relating to African American lives. The tour begins at the Visitor Center, is open year round, and costs nothing but the use of your cell phone minutes.
