If you have a curiosity about the past and are looking for a way to share the joy of discovery with others, then volunteering at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (JPPM) is for you.

You are invited to join us as we strive to preserve, interpret and present Maryland’s remarkable history to all who visit JPPM. There are many ways to volunteer, including the areas below:

Current Volunteers Roles

  • Horticulture Helpers - This weekly group of volunteers meet on Wednesday mornings and do a broad range of volunteer activities including garden and grounds conservation projects, foraging, and overall horticulture care. Open to all, weather permitting. Reach out to JPPM Horticulturist Lindsay Hollister​ ​​for more information.​

  • Education Volunteers - Our Education department is seeking volunteers to aid in school programming and activities. Reach out to Education Director Deb Rantanen.​​

  • JPPM Events - JPPM hosts several large park-wide events through out the year and is always seeking volunteers to help make them a success! Reach out to Marketing & Events Manager Bridget Rinker Bridget Rinker​​.​

The Maryland General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Audits operates a toll-free fraud hotline to receive allegations of fraud and/or abuse of State government resources.
