Once a show barn for Black Angus cattle, the JPPM Visitor Center has been renovated to create the ideal place to begin your visit. Housing permanent and temporary exhibits, a theatre room, Discovery Room, information center, museum shop, and public facilities, it is the information hub of the Park & Museum. Stop by to learn about the history of the property, the science of archaeology, or to pick up a
Map & Trail Guide. Staff is on hand during our public season to answer questions and offer suggestions on how to make the most of your visit.
|The Visitor Center houses exhibits on the history of the JPPM property and people who lived here. “FAQ Archaeology” is an interactive exhibit focused on answering some of the most common questions that archaeologists receive, such as “how do you know how deep to dig?” and “what’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found?” View artifacts from every county in Maryland and learn about archaeological discoveries made here on Park & Museum property.
|Experience, discover, learn and have fun! Children of all ages enjoy our Discovery Room! Dress in a colonial outfit, use colonial and American Indian tools, play with historical toys, and try your hand at matching birds with their nest and eggs. The hardest part will be trying to leave!
